Staying safe on Edge Him
Most men on Edge Him are who they say they are. A few aren't. These habits protect you from the few without getting in the way of meeting the rest.
Before you meet
- Chat first, and video call if you can. A short video call confirms he's the man in the photos. Someone who always has an excuse not to is a warning sign.
- Meet in public the first time. A coffee or a drink somewhere busy, before anyone's place. If it goes well, the rest of the night is still there.
- Tell a friend. Send someone you trust his profile name, where you're going and when you expect to be back, and check in when you get home.
- Get yourself there and back. Have your own way home, and keep your phone charged.
- Agree on limits before anything starts. For edging and cum control especially: the goal, the stop word, and what's off the table. A man who won't talk about limits isn't one to play with.
- Trust your gut. You can leave at any point, for any reason, without explaining.
Your phone number and personal details
- Keep chatting on Edge Him until you trust him. Your exact location is never shown here, and your messages stay on the site.
- Be careful with your phone number. A number can be looked up to find your real name, your other accounts and sometimes your address. If you want to move off the site, a second number from a free calling app keeps your own number private.
- Hold back your last name, workplace and home address until you've met and trust him.
- Think about what's in your photos. A face together with explicit photos, or photos that show your home, car or workplace, give a stranger more than you may mean to.
Money: never
- Never send money, gift cards, crypto or payment app transfers to someone you met here. Whatever the story: a ticket to visit you, a payment that's stuck, an emergency, a "verification fee". Men who want to meet you don't ask for money.
- Report anyone who asks. Use Report or block this member in the chat. Our filter already stops new accounts from sending payment links, and your report lets us remove the account.
If someone threatens to share your photos
This is sextortion: someone gets explicit photos or video, then demands money or more photos to keep them private. It's a crime, it's common, and it isn't your fault.
- Don't pay. Paying rarely ends it; it usually leads to more demands.
- Stop replying, but don't delete anything. Take screenshots of his profile, the messages and any payment details he sent, then block him.
- Report him to us with Report or block this member, so we can disable the account and remove his messages for other members.
- Report it to the police. In the US, report it to the FBI at tips.fbi.gov or ic3.gov, or call 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324). Outside the US, contact your local police.
- Stop the images spreading. StopNCII.org is free, and helps adults stop intimate images being shared on the platforms that work with it, without you uploading the images themselves. In the US, platforms must remove intimate images shared without your consent within 48 hours of your request; if one doesn't, report it at TakeItDown.ftc.gov.
- Avoid paid "removal" or "blackmail help" companies. The FBI and the FTC warn that some charge thousands of dollars and don't deliver. The help above is free.
- Talk to someone you trust. You don't have to deal with it alone.
If something goes wrong in person
- If you're in danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.
- Afterwards, report him to us so other members don't meet him. Your report is read by a real person.
What we do
- Every photo is reviewed by a real person before other members see it.
- Your exact location is never shown to other members.
- New accounts can't send links or payment details until you reply to them, and accounts that message too many men too fast are slowed down.
- Reports go straight to our moderators, who can disable an account and remove the messages it sent.
- Edge Him is for men 18 and over. If you think a member is under 18, report him right away.
